Our Vineyard

"Our task is to observe, understand, support, so that our energy is based and amplified with that of the vineyard"

"OUR TASK IS TO OBSERVE, UNDERSTAND AND ACCOMMODATE, SO THAT BOTH OUR ENERGY AND THE VINEYARD'S STRENGTH IS FOUNDED AND MAGNIFIED TOGETHER"

In the valley, 50 metres above sea level, the Fornacelle vineyard currently covers an area of 9 hectares. We manage our vineyard whilst fully respecting the environment through sustainable agricultural management.

The grape varieties that we cultivate are: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, for red wine production, and Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Fiano for white wine. We plant between 6,000 to 8,000 plants per hectare.

The growing method we use changes according to the grape variety, from spurred cordon to Guyot. Each type of soil has been carefully analysed before choosing which vine should be planted. The vineyards are located on soils with different specific qualities. Medium-textured with shells, stones, sandy-loam with marine deposits and gravel. Each type of soil brings specific character to the grapes and therefore enriches the wine with diverse nuances.

We carefully and personally manage the vineyard during each and every phase which means that we are able to obtain a single and high-quality harvest every year. As part of this research, to understand the real potential that our company and region possess, for each vintage a certain amount of single-variety wine that gave the best results, is bottled separately.
